Canon EOS Rebel T5i Reviewed

Canon EOS Rebel T5i

When you go on vacation, taking pictures is what will help you build the memories that are going to last you a lifetime. The problem is with all the digital cameras for vacation photography on the market it is nearly impossible to select the model of camera that is going to suit you best. This is when you can easily avoid all of the headache of having to search through multiple pictures and multiple cameras by reading the reviews on the various cameras that are on the market. In this review, we are going to go out and cover the Canon EOS Rebel T5i. This camera is one that a lot of people tend to recognize just because of the Canon name, but they also start to ask if the camera is really worth the price that Canon demands for their products or could they get away with a lower costing model. Here is the review of the Canon EOS Rebel T5i and after reading this review and viewing the pictures you can make up your own mind if the camera is worth the cost or not.

  • Offers a full HD movie mode.
  • Compatible with the EF and EF-s lenses, which provides more options.

How To Use The Canon EOS Rebel T5i

Canon EOS Rebel T5i GearUsing a digital camera can be confusing because you have so many different options to select from. However, with Canon they do take this into account and attempt to make it as easy as possible for you to have an easy time in getting to use your camera. The problem is it can still be confusing at times if you are not familiar with the workings of a digital camera or have never really bought a new camera in quite some time.

With this model of camera, the on off button is conveniently located at the top of the camera. However, unlike a lot of the cameras where the button is pushed to turn the camera on or off, this one is a slide switch. So you will have fewer incidents of pushing the button thinking it is your camera taking button, when in reality you just turned the camera off on yourself. This means you do not have as many missed pictures or horrible shots because you were hurrying the picture to get it snapped when the camera turns back on.

The settings switch is actually a round little knob at the top of the camera. This knob is where you will be changing the picture settings to something else each time you want to take a different picture at a different setting. You will need to experiment with each of these, but for the most part they are labeled with little pictures and it makes it easier for you to know which picture setting you are taking. Over time, it will be easy for you to find the settings as you can easily know just from the start as to which picture setting you are on.

When you go to take a picture, you will want to make sure you use the button on the front corner of the camera. When you use this button, it will be depressed a little bit, to allow the auto focus to work, and then you can finish snapping the picture. You can snap the picture all at once if you want to, but it is best if you let the auto focus do its job to help ensure your pictures show up and are clear like you want them to be. If you are more experienced at taking pictures, then you may find the additional focus options to be a good idea to play around with.

 Frame Rate Per Second

When you are taking action pictures, you want to have a faster frame per second. The higher the frame per second is for the camera, the clearer the action pictures will be. However, this is also going to make it easier for you to see what is going on as well because you can finally see the pictures and know it is going to be clear. With the Canon EOS T5i, it is going to have the ability to take up to 5 frames per second. While this is not the fastest speed for a camera it does provide you with a good enough clear picture for you to see what type of action is actually taking place, rather than having a gap in the pictures that you are taking because of the way the pictures are being taken for you.

Adjustable ISO Rating

While most people are not even aware of what the ISO is, it actually is one of the most important aspects of a camera to consider because it will impact how much light is needed to take good picture shots. With most of the digital cameras, these levels are very adjustable and often can be made so people can take a picture in almost zero light conditions. With this camera, it is not possible to take pictures in the zero light conditions, but it is possible to get the light down to a minimum as the normal range is 100 to 12800, but it can be adjusted all the way up to 25600 for the ISO rating.

LCD Screen That Is Large And Adjustable

When you are looking at these cameras, you may find it is hard to find a camera that has a larger screen, which allows you to see the details you want. However, with this screen it is only 3 inches, but for a lot of digital cameras this screen is quite large, which means you do not have to be concerned about not getting a chance to see the pictures you are taking before you complete the pictures. Without this, you could have problems in getting to enjoy the pictures because you cannot delete off some of the pictures that were bad when you took them. Something else you will enjoy is the screen, while already larger in size, comes with over 1 million dots, which will help provide you with the clarity you want to have with the pictures.

14 Bit A/D Conversion

Converting the analog signal to a digital signal is something that is a lot more complex than what people think. In fact, sometimes people will find these conversions are nearly impossible to get done unless people are considered a camera expert. However, this is important for people to get the best image quality and have the image looks that people want to get. The Canon will not only get the pictures taken that people want to have, but they will also have the color variations that people want to have. With this camera it will take up to 16,384 colors in each of the channels on the camera, which ensures the great picture clarity people want to have.

Auto Focus Features

Sometimes you are going to be using your camera and not really want to take the time out of the day to get the picture taken. With that being said, you will want to make sure you look at the auto focus of any camera. When you use the Canon EOS Rebel T5i, it will be easy for you to see the auto focus is going to keep your camera working right and allow you to know that your pictures are going to come out looking great. However, you will need to make sure you allow the camera time to have the auto focus to work because if you do not allow this to happen, it is going to be very difficult for you to get the great picture you want to have. However, when you do allow this camera to complete its auto focus, it is going to allow you to have a great picture that you want to have and know it is going to be easy to be seen.

Pros

  • Excellent starter camera for people just entering into digital photography.
  • Easy to use right out of the box, without having to go through a learning curve.
  • Live view mode allows you to learn the difference about the exposure.
  • Burst picture mode allows you to take clear pictures for an action shot.
  • Vivid color explosion is something else which you will enjoy seeing with this camera.

Cons

  • Depending on the lenses people have reported getting blurry pictures.
  • Automatic shooting may not work for all situations as it can be hard to get the right look.
  • Sometimes, unless you pay extra, you may find you need to get an extra memory stick.

Price Options

Okay, I decided to spend some time exploring the different pricing of the T5i and found it is a little bit on the pricey side, but it is a camera that the price is not overly expensive like the Olympus EVolt. However, even with all the exploration that I did, I could not really find a price that was competitive with the cost of the camera on Amazon. So I have to say, if you want to get a good price on the camera, you may want to look at Amazon, by clicking on the link below for the current price. I would list the price here, but since I started research for the article the price has dropped so I do not want to accidentally misguide you on the price or discourage you from making a purchase because of the camera price.
