This is a skillet that definitely has some good qualities about it, but one that stands out to us is the fact this is a skillet that is almost 3 inches deep. Since this is deep it will make it easier for you to get the cooking done in the skillet, but also know the skillet will be able to keep the work going for you for a longer period of time.

How Are They The Same

These are the same because they are both made from very good quality cast iron. That is a good thing because it means the pieces are durable and are going to last you for a longer period of time if you are caring for them properly.

When you look at these pieces you will notice they re both preseasoned. This will make it easier for you to have a skillet you can use almost right away. However, one thing that you will notice is you are going to have to reseason these once you get them home because they are not seasoned as deep as what you would want to have, but seasoning the cast iron, which may seem like a difficult job, is very easy for you to do.

How Are They Different

Well, the first glaring difference between these two cast iron skillets is the fact the Fresh Australian cast iron skillet is bigger. However, the Lodge brand is only a 10.25 inch skillet. So the size of these are going to make a difference on how well you will like the skillet. If you want a larger skillet, then you will want to consider the Fresh Australian, but if you want a smaller one that is very versatile then you may enjoy the Lodge product.

Now, I can speak from the Lodge and I can tell you that it is a very heavy type of cast iron that is extremely durable. However, the Fresh Australian is not nearly as heavy from the reviews that I have read. So this is something else that I would consider is the weight of these because that can make a difference in how long the skillets are going to last, but also how easy they are for you to move around.

How Can You Decide?

The decision that you have to make is going to be a challenge. However, you need to make sure you know about the different cast iron on the market. When you do this you will notice that it is going to be easier for you to figure out which one you should be getting. This is why we have to say if you want a skillet that is smaller and will fit on almost all of your burners you may want to consider the Lodge brand, but if you want to get a skillet that is larger and going to work on getting your food cooked quickly and accurately, which both will do, you may want to consider the Fresh Australian.
