Honda is a great name when it comes to automobiles, heck, I even have a Honda SUV, but what you may not realize is they are a great company when it comes to the portable power equipment market as well. I know that some people have even talked about how the generators are a powerful source of equipment and I have decided it was time for me to check this out as well. I know this is a great generator and it is a portable one as well. Since this is the case, I decided it was time to review the Honda EU2200i portable generator to let you know if this is a generator that will actually work for your needs or if you need to consider a different option for your needs.

Features Of The Honda EU2200i Portable Generator

• This is a generator that is very quiet as it is going to go only 48 to 57 dBA. This will make it a great generator that you can use and not have to worry about it being so loud that you cannot hear or listen to anything that is going on in the area.
• Can be worked in a parallel unit with other generators that are available from Honda to produce even more power. This allows you to buy two of these generators if you want and have them worked into the grouping to give you the power that you want to have.
• The power plant here is going to use the Honda Eco-Throttle power system and that is going to make it easier for you to have a great product that will last you for a longer period of time. The company does state that this will last 4 hours under a heavy load and on a lighter load will last almost ten hours.

What I Like About This Portable Power Equipment

Is Very Quiet

Well, I have to say this is one of the primary things that I like about this generator and that is the fact this is going to be extremely quiet. I know this is something that you will want to consider if you are living in a subdivision, condo, or even an apartment because it is very quiet. So you do not have to be concerned about the neighbors really complaining about the loud noise that you would get from a louder generator as this is easily one of the quietest generators you can find on the market at 48 to 57 dBA.

Can Work In Tandem With A Second EU2200i

When you are looking at these generators you will notice they are going to not have a lot of power on their own. At the same time, though, you will find that it can allow you to work in tandem with another generator and this will allow you to get the extra power that you did not think you would be able to get out of the Honda EU2200i.

Eco-Throttle Allows For Long Run Time

Well, I have to say that I do not really like the way some of the generators are going to work because it is going to last a long when they are operating. With this type of run time you can actually have this running for several hours and what I really like about this is the fact that this is going to run for anywhere from 4 hours with it fully loaded down and about 9.6 hours when the generator is not under much of a load at all.

What I Dislike With The Generator

By Itself Only Provides 1800 Watts Of Constant Power

The constant power is what I like to look at more than the surge power or the high-stress load. With this being the case, if I had to use this on a regular basis it would only let me have the small space heater that I have that is 1500 watts of power and a couple of lights. The generator does have a load rating that you can use of up to 2200 watts of power, but even then it does not maintain that power for a long period of time.

My Final Thoughts 

I do have to say the Honda EU2200i portable generator is one that does the job it is supposed to do and that is make electric power. However, at the same time it is a very small generator that may not provide you with all the electric you need to have. This could be a decent generator if you want to have one for your campsite and it could be something that can work in an emergency for your home. If you are looking for a consistent power source, though, that will power the entire home then you do not need a portable generator. Overall, if you are looking for a decent portable generator that is lightweight for some emergency home electric you cannot really go wrong here.
