Pop up camping tents have become increasingly popular as many campers find them to be less expensive, easier to set up and transport, and easier to set up for long periods of time. In short, pop up tents are very convenient to use. What are the benefits? Well, for one, it is compact – it’s smaller than traditional camping tents, and it fits inside your vehicle easily. Also, pop up camping tents offer some extra storage space, especially if you have a large camping gear.

As far as convenience goes, there are many to choose from. Some are just like the traditional RVs with a fold-down tent that pops up when you need it. Others are all folded up into one, and contain their own bed, table, chair, and storage areas. Still others are smaller, but allow you to still put up a canopy so you can see around.

You will find that there are two basic types of pop up tent trailers: those that are hitch mounted and tow. What exactly is the difference? Well, when you use a hitch mounted trailer, it basically has a hitch on the back that carries the tent and the rear part of the vehicle. When you use a tow trailer, the vehicle carries the trailer and the tent.

When you are in an area where free water is present, using a tow or a pull behind camper can be quite helpful to keep the camper from getting damaged by running over Grey water. With the pull behind, the camper is connected to the back of the RV with bungee cords, so that it can be held up with hooks and ropes. It works great in areas where you may run into grey water, but since there is no way to get to the camper, you need to have someone there with you to fill the bottles. If you are in an RV park, you can sometimes purchase a water bottle dispenser, so that your guests don’t have to fill up their own bottles and then carry them around all day.

One of the advantages of using an a-frame pop up camping trailer is that they usually come with a built-in electric fireplace. This is a great way to light your campsite and add some much needed convenience. You can even find these tents with an attached stove and oven, so you don’t have to worry about all the work involved in lighting the fire and your meal. These tend to be smaller than full-sized camping tents, which means that you won’t have to leave the camper in your garage when you are done for the night. However, if you do leave the camper in the garage during the day, it is a good idea to put it in the shade, either by putting it under an awning or by placing a table beneath it so that it doesn’t get too hot.

If you are planning to take your pop up trailer with you on a long trip, you should keep in mind that towing one can be pretty tricky. To make things easier on yourself, it can be helpful to enlist the services of a towing company or to call your local roadside assistance service. They should be able to tell you how to get the mowing job done safely and securely. Just make sure that you always have the right equipment with you when you are towing, such as a jack, winch and tow rope, because towing a caravan is not like riding a motorcycle.

Catriona caught the camping bug when she was very young, travelling in a motorhome with her family, then graduating to backpacking and camping out in her teens. Since then, she has lived in many places, all of them temporary and most of them canvas based with a few road vehicles  and stays in pop up camping trailer tents in the colder weather.
