Oster Large Capacity Toaster Oven

Toaster ovens are definitely a great item to have and if you have a smaller oven or are limited on space, the toaster oven can take the place of several appliances all at once. However, with all the different toaster ovens on the market, it is nearly impossible to figure out which one you should buy versus the ones that are not really going to matter that much for what you need to have done. Since this can be an issue, I decided it was time for me to go over another toaster oven that made our top five list and in this case it is the Oster Large Capacity Toaster Oven.

Features Of The Oster Convection Oven

• Has an interior light, which is different than some of the other toaster ovens that we have reviewed that had a light, but was dim or did not even have a light for you to use and have help getting the chance to see what was going on with your food.
• The display panel is very user friendly and for most of the cooking settings you just have to push a button to get it set. This is a great feature as it does make it quite a bit easier to know what you are doing with the cooking compared to what you could be doing or may not even have a chance to be doing. For example, the common theme we see with these is a twist knob, which can be set in the wrong place if you are not careful.
• The size of the Oster toaster oven here is quite a bit larger than what you would expect. That is really helpful because it allows you to fit in quite a bit of food, but at the same time it makes it easier for you to get the food prepared at the same exact time. One thing that you will note is the company claims this will fit a 12 inch pizza pan and that could definitely be helpful if you want to make quite a bit of pizza.
• Cleaning up the crumbs is actually very easy with this machine as it does have a removable crumb tray. This tray makes it quite a bit easier for you to get rid of the crumbs that are inside of the toaster oven, but at the same time it allows you to clean the toaster oven out after each use.

How Accurate Is The Temperature?

This is going to sound a little bit sad, but out of the toaster ovens they are often seen as the least reliable in the temperature settings. While I found this to hold true as the temperatures can vary quite a bit and compared to your traditional oven is less accurate in my findings. I am happy to report that the Oster Large Capacity Toaster Oven seems to have a very accurate temperature reading. This means your food will finally get cooked like you want it to be cooked and have it finished cooking at the proper time, without having to adjust for the oven.

Does The Toaster Oven Have An Automatic Shut Off?

You know how it is, you get busy working on something around the house or you start to get some other food prepared and do not hear the dinger on the toaster oven. Well, with some of the models you know this means your food is going to be completely ruined and by the time you get around to the toaster oven or remember you had food in it, the food is going to be black and hopefully not smoking. The good news is this does have an automatic shutoff and that allows you to come back to your food done and as long as you are not too long while it is cooling off will be hot and ready for you to eat.

What Are The Presets For The Cooking Functions?

While almost all of the toaster ovens that we have talked about have automatic features not all of them do and what is even worse is it seems that each toaster oven is different. With this toaster oven it has a lot of the features that you would want to have. The features include bake, broil, toast, pizza, defrost, and warm. All of these will serve their own function and makes it easier for you to find the best one that will work for you, but also keeps the food easy to cook.

Do I Have To Buy New Pans?

Here is some good news or bad news depending on how you look at it. The good news is if you have pans that will fit into the toaster oven it will be easier for you to use the toaster oven immediately. At the same time, though, you are going to notice that if you do not have the proper pans you may have to go out and buy a new set of pans that will fit the toaster oven. The good news, though, is the pans are fairly affordable and for the most part are the ones that you can easily find anywhere that you shop and even locate them online.

What Do I Like About The Toaster Oven

I love the large capacity of this toaster oven and the fact that it actually holds the amount of food that it says it will. This is a great feature and definitely something that I really love because it does make it quite a bit easier for me to know how to balance out the food preparation and know the toaster oven can actually handle the amount of food I will be cooking inside of it.

Something else that I really like is the fact the temperature reading for this toaster oven is fairly accurate. This allows the food to get ready according to the time on the box or what I know it should and not leave me guessing if the food is done or if I need to put the food back into the toaster oven for a longer period of time. What else is great is the speed which it reaches the temperature as well and that is really helpful for me to get the food completed in a timely manner as well without waiting for an extra ten to fifteen minutes for my regular oven to preheat.

The preset features are amazing and as long as you have someone who is able to read them and get the information set properly you are able to get quite a bit of food prepared right away. This is great  because it is smaller and while it is still dangerous, it is an oven that I can trust my teens to use and with the automatic shutoff not really have to worry about them burning down the house if they are listening to their music and do not hear the oven going off, like I would with the regular oven.

What Do I Dislike With The Toaster Oven

I have to admit one thing that I am not really thrilled about is the fact that for me I have to get some new pans to fit this properly. While I do have to get the new pans, I know that they are smaller than what I usually would be using. So even with the larger capacity toaster oven this would not be the one that I would rely on for fixing an entire meal for my family as we are a larger family and often will need to have more space to prepare the food than what this toaster oven offers.

My Final Thoughts And Buying Recommendation

A toaster oven is not a major investment, like a regular oven, but it still can be very pricey and if you are on a budget it could be a purchase that ends up costing you more than what you planned on spending. Now, I do have to say this is a great toaster oven that is easy to use, but it is also one that is going to be helpful as it cooks a lot of food as well. With that being the case, I do have to say the Oster Extra Large Toaster Oven is one that I would recommend if you want just a toaster oven, but if you want one that handles multiple jobs at once then you may want to consider something else. Overall, though, the Oster Extra Large Toaster Oven definitely gives you quite a bit of bang for your buck.
