Durostar Generator Has Multiple Uses

Okay, I know that this is going to sound odd since you are buying a portable generator, but this is one generator that has multiple uses. As you can tell from the video the main way the generator sits is on the floor. However, what is really nice is the generator does have a wheel attachment to make it even easier to move around.

So, what are the uses that the Durostar DS4000S has available? Well, one of the first uses is it can be used for emergency power inside of your . That is the common use and the one that most people will use this generator for. It is important to note the usage of all the appliances in your and which ones you have hooked up to the generator at any given time.

The other use and one that I have seen this used for is a generator for an RV. This is a great option for the RV and it is one that will make it easier for you to use as it is not overly heavy, but it does have a nice power amount for an RV. Not to mention if you are putting the generator on a carrying rack on the back of your RV it tends to fit fairly easily.

Number Of Plugs Is Comparable To Other Portable Generator Models

With most of the generators they are going to have a couple of outlets to use. Well, the Durostar portable generator is no different in the number of plugs that are available to use. In fact, the generator as mentioned in the features list has 2 normal 110V outlets that you can plug into, which can be used for normal household type of plugs. The other plug that is available is the 30 amp twist lock that can provide plenty of electric output as well.

Gasoline Powered Motor Provides Consistent Power

The motor with any generator is a major concern and one that could definitely become problematic if it fails. However, in our Durostar DS4000s review we noticed that the motor is a DuroStar 208cc OHV motor. This is a gasoline powered motor that has plenty of power for consistent electric flow, but also a motor that makes it easier for you to have a generator that runs for a longer period of time.

Motor Preservation With Low Oil Shutoff

Face it one thing that you normally would not do when you are starting the generator and your electric is out is check the oil. I know I have done that and several other people have as well. However, when you don’t check the oil you could easily ruin your motor on the generator by running out of oil. Well, the Durostar DS4000S portable generator has a low oil shutoff and a light that lets you know why it shut off. This makes it easier for you to use the generator for a long period of time and not really have to worry about ruining the motor without oil in it. Now, I would not recommend relying solely on the shutoff as it can be wrong at times, but it is definitely a safety feature that can save you a lot of headache with a ruined motor.

DuroStar Portable Generators Reach Pollution Standards

How often have you been somewhere that is using a portable generator to have the only thing that you smell is the exhaust fumes? Then you start to smell so many of the exhaust fumes that you get sick? Well, I know with my older generator that was a common problem and one that I knew I had to address with any new generator that I did pick up had to meet the guidelines.

In my work on the Durostar DS4000s review, I found that it does meet all the latest standards for pollution guidelines from the California Air Resources Board and the Environmental Protection Agency. Now, this does not remove all the exhaust fumes that are coming out of the motor, but it definitely lessens how much of a smell I get when I am using the generator.

Dimensions And Weight

Length: 24 inches

Width: 17 inches

Height: 17 inches

Weight: 94 pounds

Obviously you can tell from the dimensions that it is not that large an bulky item that you could have to carry around. However, the weight is coming in at 94 pounds so you may want to have a second person around to help you carry the generator.

Additional Accessories

Okay. I know that I mentioned you probably will need help moving the generator, but that is only if you have to carry it. The main accessory that people tend to buy along with the generator is the wheel kit. You can find Durostar does make a kit that attaches perfectly to the generator and makes it easier for you to move.

My Final Thoughts On The DuroStar DS4000S

Okay. I have to admit that I have always been a person that loved the Generac brand of generators and to a certain extent the Champion brand as well. However, I did find that this generator has plenty of power and is easy to move around compared to the other brands. Not to mention, I have found that this generator is very reliable and easy to start. Overall, with our DuroStar DS4000S review I would have to say I would recommend this generator as it is versatile and one that provides plenty of power for hours on end while using only 4 gallons of gasoline.
