If you are looking for a diet program to help you lose weight then you may have come across a lot of suggestions that claim to help you be motivated to diet. Diet programs have worked for many people wanting to lose weight, but you should know that a diet alone cannot make you lose weight. You should have a strong motivation in order to stick with the diet and achieve your weight loss goals. It is also important to know that if you want to learn how to be motivated to diet then there are certain things that you need to keep in mind. Let’s look first at some diets, then at the motivation to start and continue them:

Diets

There are various dieting programs available in the market and the best way to decide which diet program is best for you is by asking yourself what you want to achieve. Do you want to slim down but not worry about your actual weight? Fitness training, including light weights can do a lot to tone your body and make you look slim without you have to lose a pound in weight! Lean muscles also burn more calories and can help you lose weight effectively. Need to lose fat? Look at the size of your waist line. Is your body fat increasing? Then it may be very beneficial for you to go for a diet program like low carb dieting, that cuts down on carbohydrates (bread, sugar, candy, cakes, etc).

Low carbohydrate dieting has helped a lot of people to slim down. This is because when you go for this type of dieting you eat less carbohydrate-containing . This program helps you to burn off excess fat and lose weight. You can use this type of dieting for losing weight fast. This dieting program also helps you to lower your cholesterol. In some cases, this type of dieting can help people reduce up to 40 pounds in just three months but it obviously depends on your starting weight, your chosen target weight and your motivation as to how much you actually lose.

Another low carb dieting program you can use to learn how to be motivated to diet is one called the Atkins diet. This diet program forces your body to use fat as an energy source rather than sugar and is thus similar to the keto diet. The diet program is based on the theory that carbohydrate-containing foods stimulate hormones that cause hunger and increase calorie intake. The aim is use fat as the body’s fuel source instead of sugar (glucose).

If you want to learn how to be motivated to diet then you might also look into the Pritikin diet program. This is a low fat high fiber diet, which uses a lot of plant-based materials and can be adapted for use by vegetarian and vegan dieters. The use of more plant based foods can be very healthy even if you are not looking to lose weight.

Dr. Allen’s diet program was invented at the start of the 20th century and was devised for diabetics. It used starvation techniques to help control diabetes at a time before insulin was available to control this. Rather than starvation, the latest diet program invented for diabetics but which also helps with weight loss is the 8 week Blood Sugar Diet or 8 week BSD. This is being promoted by the National Health Service in the United Kingdom, to try and reduce the number of diabetic patients in the country. This also helps you burn calories and lose weight while at the same time, it can help to reverse diabetic symptoms in some people. While it most certainly can help you lose weight (often 10 per cent of your starting body weight over the 8 week period) it is a low calorie diet, allowing you only 800 calories a day for the 8 weeks. This can make it hard for some people to be motivated to keep it up. Once the 8 weeks is up, it can also be difficult to find the right diet to keep the weight off. Some people use the Mediterranean diet for maintaining weight loss, others use intermittent fasting.

Getting That Motivation

If you need the motivation to help start a diet, it’s often useful to consider why you want to go on a diet. Is it for health reasons? Are going to an important event? Are you wanting to have a Zoom or Facebook live meeting with someone? If you have had a health scare or you really, really want to look good at an event or on screen, this can provide good motivation to lose weight. For these kinds of reasons, quick weight loss is often wanted and the motivation to overcome dieting resistance is often the sight of the scales showing weight dropped every day. The diets for this kind of weight loss include the fast diet (intermittent fasting) and the 8 week 800 calorie BSD diet. Both of these diets and similar will give you quick weight loss.

If your need to lose weight is on the health grounds of wanting to be able to move more easily or avoid the health problems that come with obesity or serious overweight, you may find you are more motivated by a diet that you can live on for the rest of your life. That means it has to be healthy, varied, interesting and not leave you feeling hungry and irritable a lot of the time. The keto type diets, such as Atkins, Paleo or keto itself will suit some people, while the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet may suit others. The Meditarranean diet is a healthy diet that suits some people. All of these diets can be lived on for long periods and are interesting, varied and healthy enough to avoid problems you may experience with fad diets.

So What Is Your Motivation

Do you need fast weight loss or long term weight loss? Perhaps you want both? It’s certainly possible to use one diet such as keto or intermittent fasting to lose weight quickly, then to move to another diet, such as the Mediterranean diet or the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet  to keep that weight off. It’s your choice.

Meg has tried many diets over the years and now has her favorites that she turns to if necessary, however, she has also found a way of eating that keeps her weight generally at a reasonable level, while eating healthily.
